Legal documents on a worn wooden desk

OUR SERVICES

Three Services, One Area of Law

Our work covers the three situations that most commonly arise in inheritance matters: where there is no will, where documents need formal verification, and where family members cannot reach an agreement.

OUR METHODOLOGY

How We Approach Each Matter

Each matter begins in the same way: we listen to the family's account of the situation and ask questions to understand both the legal and the human picture. We do not begin drafting documents or filing anything until we have read everything that is available and have set out our understanding in writing for the family to review.

We believe that the most important work in any inheritance matter happens before any formal step is taken. A thorough early assessment identifies the real issues, anticipates complications, and allows the family to make informed choices about how to proceed. Families who have that understanding are better placed to participate in their own matter.

Throughout each engagement, we keep a complete written record of what has been decided and why. At the conclusion of the matter, that record is provided to the client as part of the closing documentation.

01

Initial Conversation

We hear the family's account of the matter and identify the relevant legal and documentary issues.

02

Document Review and Written Analysis

We examine every document in the record and produce a written analysis before any action is taken.

03

Agreed Scope and Fee

We define the scope of the engagement in writing and confirm the fixed fee before proceeding.

04

Substantive Work and Regular Updates

We carry out the agreed work and provide written updates at agreed intervals throughout.

05

Closing Documentation

We provide the client with a complete record of the matter, including all documents produced and all decisions made.

Statutory inheritance documentation

SERVICE ONE

Statutory Inheritance Distribution Counsel

฿16,500 · Fixed Fee

A careful service for families addressing an inheritance where no will has been left, and the distribution must be determined by reference to statutory provisions. The work begins with a complete review of the deceased's family circumstances and the assets to be distributed, followed by a written analysis of how the relevant statutory rules apply. Where distribution can be agreed among family members, we assist with the documentation; where matters require formal procedural steps, we represent the family through them.

Full review of family circumstances and asset record

Written analysis of applicable statutory provisions

Documentation for agreed family settlement

Formal procedural representation if required

Complete closing documentation package

TYPICAL TIMELINE

Three to eight weeks for agreed distributions. Matters requiring formal proceedings will take longer, and we provide a realistic estimate after initial review.

SERVICE THREE

Disputed Inheritance Representation

฿35,000 · Fixed Fee

Representation in inheritance disputes that have not been resolved through family discussion or mediation, and that require formal procedural engagement. The work covers a complete review of the relevant documents and circumstances, preparation of the case file, and substantive representation through the relevant proceedings. We are realistic from the outset about likely timelines, costs, and the range of possible outcomes, and we revisit the assessment at each stage. Where settlement opportunities arise, they are discussed carefully with the client.

Full case file preparation

Substantive representation through formal proceedings

Ongoing outcome assessment at each procedural stage

Settlement opportunity identification and discussion

IMPORTANT NOTE ON TIMELINES

Disputed matters vary significantly in duration. We provide a realistic assessment of the likely timeline after reviewing the matter, and we update that assessment at each stage.
